Vern Allen Peterson

Vern A. Peterson Lyons—Vern A. Peterson, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his home in Lyons. Friends may call on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1-3 PM at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps Street; Lyons, New York. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3 PM with Pastor Wes Reed officiating. Mr. Peterson was born in Flint, Michigan on September 20, 1949 the son of the late Kenneth Lambert and Elizabeth Huntley Peterson. From 1989 until 1997, he worked for JP King Auction Company liquidating bank owned property. Upon moving to Lyons in 1997, Vern started working at IEC in Newark. He and his wife Meyrick operated a farm for many years. As a faithful servant, Vern would become a Sunday School teacher in every church that he was a member. Above all he was a family man. Although Vern left his earthly home, he is present with the Lord in Heavenly places as promised in 2 Corinthians 5:8. He will be greatly missed and not forgotten. Vern was an amazing husband, father and best friend. He is survived by his wife Meyrick; eight children Christine (Dave) Leone of Trenton, MI, Emily (Raj) Alva of North Palm Beach, FL, Silas Peterson of Thailand, Luke (Erin) Peterson of Lyons, Hannah Peterson of Lyons, Abbey (Seth) Toulson of Newark, Naomi Grace (Carlos Franco-Santos) Peterson of Newark, Isaac Peterson of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren; four siblings Margo (Russell) Mayfield, Gary (Mary Ann) Peterson, Joel (Bethany) Peterson, Marc (Vicky) Peterson; many nieces and nephews. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
