Lyons—Irene R. McQueen, 81, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital

 A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery. 

Irene was born in McDoughna, NY, the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Whitcomb Shepard. She married Earl McQueen and they raised three children together, she loved her family. For over thirty years she was a Caregiver at the Newark Developmental Center. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Lyons. 

Irene is survived by two sons Gregory and Keith (Samatha Foster) McQueen; four grandchildren Trystan Foster, Danielle Pullen, Harley Warren, Gregory McQueen Jr.; three great grandchildren; two sisters Aileen (Jerry) Barber and Eileen Van Gordon. She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 2009; a son William McQueen in 2013; three brothers and a sister.
