Glenwood B. Halcus Lyons – Glenwood B. Halcus, 98, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 10am to noon on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at New Life Assembly of God, 7608 NY-31 in Lyons. Funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Burial will be in S. Lyons Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Rd, Lyons, NY 14489. Glen was born in North Rose, NY on Sept. 28, 1925, the son of the late George and Georgia Dunbar Halcus. During WWII he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Fowler. After the service, he worked as a mechanic in various places and eventually settled in Syracuse working for Koerner Ford. In 1968, Glen established Ace Roofing Co. He moved to Lyons in 1978 and opened Halcus Auto in Sodus. Years later, Glen, worked for the NYS Canal System until his retirement. In his retirement he played a pivotal role in the building of New Life Assembly of God and the Retreat Center in Lyons. Glen was an active member of that denomination for over 50 years. He is survived by a sons Glenwood (Sheri) Halcus of Florida, James (Beverly) Powell of Syracuse Ronald (Lisa) Lape and Richard Lape both of Camillus; a daughter Carol Addison of Lyons; stepchildren Marvin (Ann) Reed of N. Rose. Wes Reed of Newark, Amy Bullard of Savannah, Rhonda (James) Perkins, Becky Garcia of Savannah; forty-three grandchildren; fifty-two great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of forty years Margaret Kelley Halcus; his wife of ten years Carol Reed Halcus; sons Barry Halcus, William Chadwick, David Halcus and David Powell; son-in-laws Gene Addison and David Garcia. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
