Dorothy H. Rockwell

Dorothy H. Rockwell Lyons----Dorothy H. Rockwell, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Clifton Springs Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on April 2, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church in Lyons. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery. Memorials, in her name, may be made to either the First Presbyterian Church, 11 Queen St., Lyons, NY 14489 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620. Dorothy was born in Newark, NY on February 4, 1935, the daughter of George and Mary Kotvis Faas. She graduated from Newark High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1952. After graduating from Brockport State, she started her career as an elementary school teacher. She retired from Phelps Elementary school after teaching 3rd grade there for 24 years. As an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons, she volunteered her time to many things including the Food Closet. Along with her love of traveling and reading, she always enjoyed her Bridge and Euchre Clubs, and was a longtime member of Silver Sneakers. She loved spending time in the summer with Friends and family at the Rockwell family cottage in Henderson Harbor. Mrs. Rockwell is survived by her sister Norma Walters; two sons Dwight (Tracey) and David (Judy) Hull; three step children Daniel (Deb) Rockwell, Ellen (Lance) Shaner, and Mark (Jennifer) Rockwell; grandchildren Kristin Hull, Ryan Hull; step grandchildren John Kenna, Christopher and Nicole Reynolds, Steven, Mathew, Michael, Daniel, Jessica and Marjory Rockwell, Rebecca Vines, Mathias, Justin and Sarah Shaner; nineteen step great grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her husband Richard "Dick" Rockwell; a sister Margaret LeRoy; step children Nancy Kenna and Christine Reynolds; and step grandson Jason Kenna. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
