Abigail "Gail" M. Townsend

Abigail M. Townsend “Gail” Lyons----Abigail M. Townsend, 84 passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Friends may call on Friday, March 15th from 4-7 PM at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St. Lyons, NY. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 333 Westmoreland Dr., Rochester, NY 14620 or to a charity of one's choice. Gail grew up in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School, Class of 1957. For years she worked as a teller at Columbia Bank in Newark. She moved onto Wayne County Department of Social Services where she was one of the first people to be trained in Data Processing. She retired after over thirty years of service. She and her husband loved bowling; she won the Times Union Classic Trophy. She loved her crossword puzzles. An avid reader she usually had her nose in a book. Gail leaves behind her two daughters Leslie (Michael) Sechrist and Amy (David) Nagowski; three grandchildren Kristin (Kevin) LaFollett, Jeremy Sechrist and Bobbi Jo Nagowski; three great grandchildren Kate, Falyn and Ronin. She was predeceased by her parents Eleanor and John Miles, Her husband Robert J. Townsend and a grandson Lucas Sechrist. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
