Charles G. Castor Charles G. Castor, 93, passed away on April 27, 2013 in Vero Beach, FL. He was born February 21, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated frm the College of Agriculture, Cornell University in 1942, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Pomology and a Commssion as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army. Charles was assigned to the 59th Field Artillery, where he received a Bronze Star for meritorious service. He owned an apple farm in North Rose and was retired from the Agricultural Division of Mobay Chemical Co. He was a devoted member of the North Rose United Methodist Church, was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Shrine. After Charles and his wife, Doris, retired in Florida, he was active in the First United Methodist Church in Melbourne, FL and in later years, the Asbury United Methodist Church in Vero Beach, FL. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Strong Castor; his children John and Laura (Baker); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Rev. H. Paul Castor. A memorial service will be held on Sat., June 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the North Rose United Methodist Church, Main Street, North Rose, NY. Burial will follow at Rose Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the North Rose United Methodist Church. Arrangement are with Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, North Rose.
