Lyons Howard L. Raymer, 89, a resident of DeMay Living Center in Newark, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013. Family and friends may attend a graveside service Friday (June 28), 10 a.m. at South Lyons Cemetery, Lyons. Howard was born January 3, 1924 in Sodus, a son to the late William H. and Elizabeth DeHond Raymer. He retired from Finger Lakes Packaging after 20 years of employment. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Lyons. For those wishing, memorials may be directed to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 5026 W. He is survived by his wife Mary of 62 years; son, James (Evan) of North Carolina; daughter, Nancy DeWeaver of Newark; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Karen and David DeWeaver; brother, William (Betty) Raymer of Lyons; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 6 sisters, Mary Follette, Virginia Curran, Genevieve Pentycofe, Helen Barnhart, Betty Lodes and Pauline Raymer and 2 brothers, Clarence and Paul Raymer.
