Helen M. Smith

Lyons Helen M. Smith, 86, passed away on Saturday (August 3, 2013) at home surrounded by her family. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (Aug. 7) from 2-4 pm. at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Furnaceville Cemetery, Ontario. For those wishing,memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association in your area in her memory. Helen was born on April 20, 1927, a daughter to the late Clifford and Edna Riley Peake. She was a foster grandparent through Lyons School District for 19 years and really enjoyed spending time with the kids. Helen is survived by her three children, Eugene Smith of Lyons, Suzanne DeRoo of Lyons and Karen Wright of Wolcott; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Saul, Krystal, Ann Marie, Amy, Billy, Jennifer and Randy and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Hannah. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Smith in 2005.
