Savannah Betty E. VanDuyne, 83, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Clifton Springs Hospital surrounded by her family. Family and friends may call on Sunday (Oct. 13) from 2 to 4 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A funeral service will be held on Monday (Oct. 14) 10 am at Lighthouse Community Fellowship in South Butler. Burial will be in Crusoe Cemetery, town of Tyre. For those wishing memorials may be made to Clifton Springs Hospital Foundation or to a charity of choice. Betty was born on April 29, 1930, a daughter to the late Elmer J. and Ruth Warner Reed. Through the years she worked at General Electric, Maple Hill Rest Home, Bowens Adult Care Home, Migrant Daycare of Wayne County, Cornish Adult Care Home, Whatever Van Duyne's Restaurant and the Newark Developmental Center. She volunteered at South Butler Ambulance, WAVAC, NAVA and the Lyons Lunch Program. She is survived by her 7 children, John (Mary) VanDuyne, Stephen (Brenda) VanDuyne, Helen (Warren) Camp, Geraldine (Vern Burm) Briggs, Christine (Michael) Bilynski, Scott (Debi) VanDuyne and Eric (David Newcomb) VanDuyne; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James and Fred Reed; 1 sister, Margaret Miller and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Milton L. VanDuyne in 2013, brother, Elmer Reed and 3 sisters, Ruth Sullivan, Carol Canada and Helen Ellis.
