Henry J. Deutschman

Cato Henry J. Deutschman, 95, formerly of Slayton Rd., passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Auburn Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church, Mechanic St., Cato, NY 13033 in Henry's memory. Family and friends may call Monday (Feb 17) from noon to 1 pm at St. Patrick's Church, Cato, where a Funeral Mass will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn. Henry was born July 14, 1918 in Auburn, a son to the late Peter and Rose Wauzaszak Deutschman. He was a veteran of the Army during WWII in which he was a bronze star recipient. He was a past owner and operator of the Cato Hotel and ran one of the largest chicken farms in New York State. Henry retired from General Electric in Syracuse. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1994. Survived by his daughter, Rose Deutschman; son, Henry (Pat) Deutschman of AZ; 4 grandchildren, Adam, Carol, Joseph and Stephen; 2 great-granddaughters, Abigail and Lily; brother, Caz and sister, Nellie; nieces and nephews. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
