James T. Ryan

North Rose / Homer James T. Ryan, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Wayne County Nursing Home. Family and friends may call on Friday (May 30) from 5 to 8 pm at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., North Rose. A funeral service will be held Saturday (May 31) at 11 am with an hour visitation before the service at Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer, NY 13077. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer. For those wishing memorials may be made to the Rose Library or Rose Historical Society, 4759 Route 414, North Rose, NY 14516 in his memory. Jim was born on June 6, 1931 in Homer, a son to the late James and Stascia Collier Ryan. He graduated from the University of Buffalo for Art Education. Jim then retired from North Rose-Wolcott Schools in 1986 as a Middle School Guidance Counselor. He enjoyed gardening, painting, sculpting, traveling and had a sense of humor. Jim is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, Margaret Little, Michael Ryan, John Ryan, Steve Ryan, Susan Dillon all of Homer, James Dillon of Oswego, Timothy Dillon of Watertown, Mary Salai of Webster, Amy Spaldini of Cortland, Joseph Higgins of Cortland, James Ryan of Marathon and Yolanda Collins on FL and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Prudence Dillon, twin brother, John Ryan and 2 brothers, Lawrence Ryan and Luther Collier.
