George R. Merrill

Victory George R. Merrill, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Wayne County Nursing Home. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (June 3) from 12 to 2 pm at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, where a funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be in Victory Union Cemetery. For those wishing memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory. George was born on March 4, 1939, in Victory, a son to the late Henry and Ena McGetrick Merrill. He was the owner and operator of Merrillway Dairy Farm in Victory. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife Joan; 3 children, Amy Gasbarrow of GA, Ann (Dayton) Humbert of Martville and Duane Merrill of Martville; 3 grandchildren, Jenna Beach, DJ Humbert and Ethan Humbert and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters, Lois Kennly and Edna Keysor.
