Kathleen S. Tyler LYONS - Kathleen S. Tyler, 92, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Wayne County Nursing Home, Nye Rd., Lyons. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 6, from 10-11 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial services will be held in South Lyons Cemetery immediately following the service. There will be no reception. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lyons Methodist Church or to a charity of choice in Kathleen's memory. Kathleen was born on August 23, 1921, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, the daughter of W. Merton and Zilpha D. Snow. She lived on a farm most of her married life where she not only took great care of her family but also took care of Bob's Dad. She was also the one to help when an extra hand was needed on the farm. She also worked for the Charles Rooke Agency and the Dept. of Social Services. She taught a Sunday school class and sang in the Evangelical Church Choir for many years. She served on the Lyons Republican Committee, The Farmers Home Administration, and was past president of the Lyons Council of Churches. Above all else, she was a CHRISTIAN. She is survived her husband of 72 years, Robert L. Tyler; daughter, Andrea (Richard) Evangelist of Lyons; three grandchildren, Jerrod Evangelist of Lyons, Joel Evangelist of Missouri, and Dr. Makenzi (Jason) Hughes of Albany; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Louise Twitchell of Oxford, Maine; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Tyler in 1968, and a sister, Miriam Priebe in 2010.
