Charles H. Pickering

Sodus Charles H. Pickering, 79, passed away peacefully with his family present Saturday, August 9, 2014. Family and friends may call Thursday (Aug. 14) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will be held Friday (Aug. 15) at 10 am. Burial will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery. For those wishing, memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Charles was born in the Town of Galen, a son to Fred and Hazel Devol Pickering. He retired from Mobil Chemical in Macedon. He loved his fruit farm, was an antique tractor collector and an avid hunter and fisherman. Predeceased by his wife Helen in 1998, brother, Thomas and sister, Theressa Fusmer. Survived by 4 children, Mary Ann (Robert) Volk of Port Gibson, Gordon (Kathy) Pickering of Lyons, Dale (Teresa) Pickering of Sodus and Bruce Pickering of Sodus; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
