Sandra Lee VanHorn

Meridian Sandra Lee Van Horn, 67, of Main St., passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (Aug. 30) 10 am at Meridian Baptist Church. Burial is in Union Hill Cemetery, Cato. For those wishing, memorials may be made to CIMVAC, POB 97, Cato, NY 13033 or to Golisano Children's Hospital, One Children's Circle, Syracuse, NY 13210. Sandra was born May 21, 1947 in Auburn, a daughter to the late Kenneth and Dorothy Everts Martin. She was a graduate of Red Creek High School in 1965, then, she attended Auburn School of Nursing, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Auburn Memorial Hospital early in her career and then obtained a nursing position at Cato-Meridian School. She retired after 38 years of employment. She is survived by her husband Joseph of 42 years; 2 children, Thomas Van Horn of Baldwinsville and Michelle (Joseph) Bonanno of Cato; 4 grandchildren, Kaylee, Nicholas, Joseph and Andrew; 3 sisters, Linda La Combe, Rhonda (Stephen) Turner and Elsie (Ed) Coleman; brother, Kenneth Martin; very special friend, Marilyn Warner; several nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Sheila Martin, and brother-in-law, Robert La Combe. Arrangements are by Keysor Funeral Service, Cato. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
