Helen Pearl Craine Norris

Port Orange, FL/Red Creek Helen Pearl Craine Norris, 91, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Octobre 2, 2014, at the Osprey Point Rehabilitation Center in Bushnell, FL. Mrs. Norris was born in Victory, NY, on June 9, 1923, to the late Henry and Pearl Craine. Helen retired in 1983 after 24 years in the Red Creek Central School District cafeterias. She resided most of her life in Red Creek before moving to Port Orange in 1989. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, an avid bowler, and loved to play bingo and bunco. Helen was predeceased by four siblings: Ernest Craine, Marion Stevens, Una Parks, Betty Goodliff Stevens, and her devoted husband of 49 years, Ray Norris. Helen's surviving siblings include Chuck Craine, Sherry VanHout, Velma DeKing and Carol Bayle. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Pettit. Also left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kathleen (Michael Singleton) of Troy, NY, and Robin Schmidt or Port Orange, FL; six grandchildren: Heather, Ian, and Brent Singleton; Elizabeth Singleton Spielman (Jon); Michael Schmidt and fiance, Lindsey Pickard; and Erin Schmidt Young (Matt), along with two precious great-grandchildren, Emma Jane Spielman and Wyatt Young with a second baby Young on the way. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and her special friend, Bill Black. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, 6816 Church St., Red Creek, NY.
