Ronald E. Burgess, Sr.

Lyons Ronald E. Burgess, Sr., of Canal St., passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, October 18, 2014. For those wishing, memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Ron was born March 6, 1942 in Summerville, NJ, a son to Earl and Noreen Franklin Burgess. He was employed through the years at the Wayne County Buildings and Grounds Department, retiring as a supervisor. Family and friends may call on Monday (Oct. 20) from 4 to 7 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday (Oct. 21) at 11 am. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery. He was predeceased by his life companion, Rose Bouwens in 2013, sister, Shirley DeCook and brother, Robert Burgess. Survived by 6 children, Debbie (Patrick) O'Sullivan of Lyons, Sandra (Scott) Burgess of Auburn, Christine Burgess of Auburn, Darren Leroux of Syracuse, Ronald Burgess, Jr. of Lyons and Glenn Burgess of Fairville; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Richard (Nancy) Burgess of GA, and Raymond Burgess of FL; 4 sisters, Barbara (Gene) Herman of Lyons, Jackie (Ed) Collins of Ontario, Cindy (Steve) Donald of Lyons and Sherry (Giles) Bobersky of Lyons; and special friend Frank (Cecile) Bouwens; special niece, Amanda Herman and many nieces and nephews and extended family. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
