Mary Catherine Heidenreich

Lyons Mary Catherine Heidenreich, 56, of Warncke Rd., died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Family and friends may call Saturday (Dec. 20) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Maranatha Baptist Church, 8721 Travell-Knapps Corners Rd., Lyons, where a funeral service will follow calling at 12:30 pm. Family burial will be at a later date in Camden, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her name to Maranatha Baptist Church, 7821 Travell-Knapps Corners Rd., Lyons, NY 14489, where she was a faithful member and a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Catherine was born May 30, 1958, in Camden, a daughter to the late Ralph and Mary Oyer Matteson. She was a graduate of Camden High School, received her Bachelors from the University of Rochester, and Masters from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse. She was employed since 1986 by Cornell University in Geneva and Ithaca as an Extension Support Specialist II in the Agriculture and Life Sciences Department of Horticulture. Catherine took great pride and joy in her work in the Horticulture field, giving lectures in Pest Management, Small Fruit Industry and wrote Extension Publications within the Empire State. She traveled extensively, speaking about her field of Agriculture. Predeceased by her brother, Ralph Matteson, Jr. She is survived by her husband Gregg; brother, David (Kelly) of Camden; uncle, William Matteson of MD; aunt, Jane Matteson of Camden; niece, Lindsey (Erik) Olson of VA; 3 nephews, David (Shannon) Matteson, Jr. of VA, Trevor (Allison) Matteson of NC and Keegan Matteson of Camden; cousin and life-long dear friend, Brenda Kellogg of Williamstown.
