Cato John F. Sabotka, Sr., 64, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 19, 2014. Family and friends may call Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato. A private burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CIMVAC or the Ira Fire Department. John was born on March 24, 1950, a son to the late Francis L. and Grace Detrich Sabotka. John was active in the Ira Fire Department as a fire policeman, and in his spare time he liked to collect stamps and coins. He also loved to spend time with his grand-kids and loved them immensely. John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dianna (Phelps); 3 children, John Sabotka, Jr., Joseph Sabotka, and Hailley (Jason) Hirvela; grandchildren, Carleigh and Owen; siblings, Grace (Bill) Mayers of Cicero and George (Debbie) Sabotka of Syracuse; father and mother-in-law, William and Lucy Phelps of NC; sister-in-law Lorri (John) Hill; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and long-time friend Howard Butler. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
