Lyons James "Gene" Hite, 83, passed away January 19, 2015, peacefully at home in Swedesboro, NJ after a long illness with his family by his side. Retired from the Army after 25 years of service. He saw the Berlin Wall come down while his unit was stationed there and was one of the first units called up. He also was stationed in Korea, and he trained men at Fort Dix, NJ and Fort Knox, KY. Right up till the end he was still called "Sarge" by many people. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur G. and Arlene C. Hite, and brother, Arthur R. Hite. Survived by his wife, Eleanor; 5 children, James, Jr., David, Donna, Judy (Joe), and Alfred (Margie); 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Andler of Lyons.
