Charles J. Donovan, Jr.

Lyons Charles J. Donovan, Jr. 87, of Clyde Rd., passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at home with his daughter Lisa and best friend Delilah (Boo) at his side. Family and friends may call Wednesday (Mar. 18) from 4 to 7 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (Mar. 19) 10 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish at St. Michael's Church in Lyons. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery. For those wishing, memorials may be made to the Town of Lyons Ambulance, St. Michael's Church or to the Lyons Fire Department in Chuck's memory. Predeceased by his wife Sylvia; sisters, Abby Pirro, Connie McCarthy and Ann Donovan; and brothers, Edward and Robert Donovan. Survived by his daughter, Lisa; sister, Margaret Quinn; brother, Thomas (Nancy Spalding) Donovan; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. Chuck was born August 4, 1927 in Syracuse, a son to the late Charles and Kathrine Burke Donovan. He was a veteran of the Navy during WWII. Chuck worked for the Rail Road in Lyons for 10 years as a ticket agent and was the owner and operator of the Western Auto Store in Wolcott for 36 years. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wayne Hills Country Club, he played semi-pro baseball, and enjoyed many trips to Ireland and had dual citizenship. He was an active member of St. Michael's Church in Lyons and was a recipient of the "Citizen of the Year" award in Lyons. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
