Carol E. Countryman

March 12, 1942 — April 18, 2015

Huron Carol E. Countryman, 73, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Her family will receive friends Sunday, (April 26) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., North Rose, followed immediately by a memorial service in her honor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY 14489 in her name. Carol was born March 12, 1942 in Sodus, NY. She was a graduate of North Rose High School and SUNY Fredonia with concentrations in education and music. Her broad career path took her from elementary education, to administration at Keuka College and finally as the Victim's Assistance Counselor in the Wayne County District Attorney's office. Each step was in service to others and she continued that dedication in retirement, serving in various health care advisory positions and quietly lending a hand or a shoulder to people who didn't know where to turn. Carol is survived by her son, Michael, three brothers, Harold (Lucille) Smith Jr., David (Sally) Smith, and Philip (Suzanne) Smith, granddaughter Kirstin (Peter) Mein and great-grandchildren, Grace, Haley, Brooklynn, Lillian and Damon. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Sr. and Jennie Smith, sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnn and Ralph Bliek. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
