Lyons Samuel D. Catholdi, 80, of Catherine St., died, Monday, April 20, 2015 at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Family services will be private. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lyons. For those wishing, memorials may be made to Town of Lyons Ambulance, 43 Phelps St., Lyons, NY 14489. Sam was born May 10, 1934 in Lyons, a son to late Charles and Lucy Nicoletta Catholdi. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1954. He retired after 37 years, working for the US Postal Service. He was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion, was a member of the Lyons Fire Department and a member of NYS Baseball Umpire Association for over 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; 2 sons, Christopher (Michelle) of Lyons and David (Susanne) of Victor; 6 grandchildren, Corey, Caitlin, Chase, Alyssa, Samantha and Megan; and sister, Angie Cinelli of Lyons.
