Adelaide G. Caywood, 93, passed away Friday, May 1 at Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. Adelaide was born in Hannibal, the daughter of the late Eugene VanPatten and Genevieve Wiltsie Van Patten. She was a lifelong resident of Red Creek. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church in Red Creek, a church elder and member of the choir. She enjoyed quilting, singing and snowmobiling, and played softball in her younger years. She especially enjoyed traveling. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a factory worker at several companies, including General Electric in Electronics Parkway. She was the wife of the late Byron Caywood, who passed away in 1991. She was predeceased by two daughters, Sharon Gregg and June Marr; two sons in law, Ronald Gregg and Jac Kachurak; a brother, Harry VanPatten; three sisters, Evelyn VanPatten, Winifred VanPatten Hanlon, and Vieta VanPatten LaDue. Adelaide is survived by three daughters, Joyce Pearce, Marilyn Caywood, and Virginia Kachurak; a brother, David VanPatten; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday 1:00-3:00 pm with a service to follow at 3 pm at Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, 6816 Church Street in Red Creek
