Cato Margaret (Peg) Sweetman, 88, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Tucson, AZ. Visitation will be held at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, NY, on Thursday, June 4 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow Parish at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mechanic St., Cato, with burial to follow in the Union Hill Cemetery, Cato. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cato CIViC Heritage Center. Peg was born in Delhi, NY on Sept 17, 1926, a daughter to Frank and Hattie Thomson. She graduated high school from the Delaware Academy in Delhi and attended Cortland State College with a major in Physical Education. Peg married her husband Hank on June 14, 1947. She was a homemaker and raised 5 children. She loved her garden, the Church and the Village of Cato. Her passion was creating the Cato CIViC Heritage Center. Peg is predeceased by her parents Frank and Hattie Thomson, her husband Hank, her son Tom, her grandson Michael and great grandson Grant Hatzl. Peg is survived by her son Hank (Martha) of Hermitage, TN, son Bob (Karen ) of Glenwood, MD, son Jim (Kim) of Oro Valley, AZ , daughter Donna Hatzl (Dan) of Minooka, IL, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
