Helen Prouty

February 22, 1924 — August 9, 2015

LYONS Helen Prouty, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday (August 9, 2015) at Newark Wayne Hospital. Friends and family may call on Monday (August 17) from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. For those wishing, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, N.Y. 14489 or to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, N.Y. 14620 in Helen's memory. Helen was born on February 22, 1924, in Dunellen, N.J., a daughter to the late John and Mary Plovotsky Golday. Helen was very proud serving in the United States Army as a Cadet Nurse from 1942-1945. Helen worked as a registered nurse for the Newark Developmental Center in Newark and was very active in the Top of the Hill Retiree's Group. She also volunteered at the Newark Hospital gift shop for many years. She is survived by her children, John Peltier of Lyons, Cynthia (Arnold) Richardson of Red Creek, Valerie (Terry) VanStean of Lyons, Barbara (Bruce) Wagner of Lyons and Mark (Fiona) Peltier of Lyons; grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Richardson, Eric Richardson, Adam (Nicole) Zulauf, Justin (Jordan) Zulauf, Kristi (Leroy) Wold and Haley Wagner; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lily Richardson, Mason Williams, Wyatt, Cooper and Grady Zulauf, Cameron Gonzales, Audra and Joshua Wold.
