James L. Mack

Cato James L. Mack, 66, of Slayton Rd., passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Family and friends may call Tuesday (Aug. 18) from 4 to 7 pm at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, where a funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Cayuga Centers, 101 Hamilton Ave. Auburn, NY 13021. Jim was born November 24, 1948 in Auburn, a son to Pete and Genevieve Wilkes Mack. He was a life-long area resident and retired from Taber Motors in Cato as a mechanic. Jim took pride in the maintenance and care of the family home. He could always be found getting his hands dirty, whether it was fixing cars, farm equipment or helping anyone in need. He especially loved to bake, using the fruit from his garden and following his mother's recipes. He is survived by his wife Sheila; daughter, Shannon (Timothy) Abate of Cato; his pride and joy, 2 grandchildren, Callin and Carter; and brother, Donald (Judy) Purdy of Baldwinsville.
