Newark Melvin F. Heck, 88, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Newark-Wayne Hospital. Family and friends may call Saturday (Sept 12) from 10 to 11am at Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, 6816 Church St., Red Creek, with a funeral service to follow at 11am with Pastor J.D. Freer officiating. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery. Donations may be made in Melvin's memory to the State Street United Methodist Church, 357 State Street, Fulton NY 13069. Melvin was born on April 19, 1927, Sterling, NY, son to the late Lester and Oneita Schumaker Heck. Melvin was co-owner and operator of Lester Heck and Sons dairy farm in Sodus for over 35 years. He moved to Fulton where he retired from Nestle's, and was an active member in the State Street United Methodist Church. Predeceased by his wife Pauline, and son, David. He is survived by his children: Linda (Patrick) LaGasse of Wolcott, Robert (Christine) Heck of Newark, James (Cindy) Heck of Wolcott, Susan (Donald Davenport) Wren of Wolcott, and Cathy (David) Willmott of Sodus; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Earl L.
