Kenneth L. VanFleet

Wolcott Kenneth L. VanFleet, 75, sadly passed Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 with his family by his side. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Irene VanFleet. Survived by his loving wife Carole of 55 years; daughters, Debra Phillips (Glen Williams), 2 sons, David (Terry) VanFleet and Ken (Karla) VanFleet; ten grandchildren and one special great-granddaughter. Ken graduated from Leavenworth High School in Wolcott in 1958 and proudly serviced in the US Marine Corps from 1958-1962 as a helicopter crew chief and flew recovery missions for NASA in support of the early space program. His life's work and passion was building a successful apple farm that will be continued by his son and grandson. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling and visiting friends both near and far. His strong presence will be sadly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all that loved him. A funeral service with military honors will be held Tuesday (Sept. 8), 10:30 am at the Wolcott Presbyterian Church.
