North Rose Calvin G. Briggs, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the age of 80. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rose or North Rose Fire Departments, or to The Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY 14489 in his memory. Family and friends may call on Friday (Sept. 11) from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 pm at Rose United Methodist Church, School St., Rose, where a funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Burial will be private in York Settlement Cemetery, Huron. Calvin was born in the Town of Rose on July 6, 1935, a son to Daniel and Audra Canary Briggs. He was a member of the Rose and North Rose Fire Departments, with 53 combined years of service to the community. He worked for Parker-Hannifin in Lyons for many years, and then Comstock Food and Seneca Foods until his retirement. Predeceased by his wife Arleen Jordan Briggs in 2007 and grandson Zachary Virts in 1996. He is survived by 4 children, Ronald of KS, Laurie of North Rose, Gregory of Lyons and Lisa (Paul) Baker of Williamson; 3 grandchildren, Corey Baker, Ashley Baker and Jake Bettis; 3 brothers, Melvin (Doris), Robert (Sara) and Glen (Mary Ann) Briggs; sister, Marge Tellier; several nieces and nephews. keysorfuneralhomes.com
