William A. Irwin

Sterling William A. "Bill" Irwin, 68, passed away peacefully with his sister by his side, at Oswego Hospital on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Bill has requested that there be no calling hours or service. Contributions may be made to Sterling Nature Center, Fair Haven Fire Department or to the Sterling Historical Society in his memory. Bill was born September 16, 1947 in Oswego, the son of Allen and Mary Cole Irwin. He lived all his life in the Sterling area, attending Hannibal Central School. Bill also attended Erie County Community College. Bill grew up on his parents' farm and later worked for Warren Campbell on his farm. He was a Trustee for Sterling Historical Society, a life member of the Sterling Historical Society, and also worked for the Sterling Nature Center. Bill is survived by his sister, Barbara Lewis of Oswego; niece, Michelle (William) Schneider of Oswego; 2 nephews, Mark (Jean) Lewis of Oswego and Daniel (Barbara) Lewis of Constantia; 2 aunts, Lucille Flack and Betty Cole of Oswego; 2 great-aunts, Rhyan Schneider and Juliet Davis; many cousins, and some special friends.
