Gerald J. Halstead

Ira Gerald J. Halstead, 74, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Family and friends may call Monday (Nov. 2) from 10 am to 11 am at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will follow in Cato Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ira Fire Department or to Beaver Lake Nature Center in Jerry's memory. Jerry was born April 19, 1941 in Auburn, a son to the late Ora A. and Florence Langworthy Halstead. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and shared his photos with other avid enthusiast with Bass Pro Shop. As a life-time area resident, he was the owner and operator of Gerald J. Halstead Construction. Predeceased by several siblings. Survived by his wife Cathy of 53 years; 4 children, Janna Halstead of Oswego, Gerald (Rebecca) Halstead, Jr. of E. Syracuse, Sherri (Tracy) Mackey of Baldwinsville and Kimberly (Johnny) Maye of NC; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Kara and Connor; children who he thought of as grandchildren, Heidi, Eric, Liz, and Karisa; brother, Bill (Betty) Halstead of Cato; several nieces, nephews and cousins. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
