Joseph L. Greco, 91, passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.
At Joe’s request no services are planned.
Joe was born August 6, 1924 in Lyons, a son to the late Ruffalo and Amelia DeVito Greco. As a proud WWII veteran of the Marines, Joe returned to Lyons in 1947 and opened Greco Jewelry Store on Canal St., working until just 2 years ago. Joe always said he was the last of the original store owners, the Herman’s, Santelli’s Weeks’s and Greco’s. He was an avid musician, playing mostly guitar, along with other instruments for many local bands, was an avid fisherman and always came home with his quota.
Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife Doris Brandt Greco, whom he married on September 9, 1950; daughters, Denise Greco Eaton, Kathy Greco Scott, Joanne Greco and Lisa Donovan; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Eaton, Colby Eaton, Trey Scott, Briana Scott, Javana Salone and Chloe’ Salone; 2 great-grandchildren, Zoe’ Tubiolo and Addison Crego; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Mary Santelli, Anna Burton, Jennie DeSanto, Rose Santelli and Rocky Greco.
