Herman I. Shippers, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from injuries sustained in an accident.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday (Dec. 30) 1 pm at South Butler United Methodist Church, State Route 89 in South Butler. Burial will be in Butler-Savannah Cemetery.
Herman was born January 9, 1924 in Marion, a son to the late Isaac and Elizabeth Hermanet Shippers. He had been a farmer for most of his life on Livingston Rd. in South Butler, and enjoyed square dancing. He had his “Coffee Klatch” at FasTrack in Wolcott, where he enjoyed meeting with the fellows for coffee in the mornings.

Predeceased by his first wife, Bonnie Gary (married from 1945 to 1977), son, Richard in 1994 and brothers, Jacob, Adrian and Melvin.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Cook) for 37 wonderful years; son, Jim of Eagle, ID; 2 daughters, Linda (Allan) Godkin of Wolcott and Nancy (Clete) Schenkel of Wolcottville, IN; grandson, Bradley (Sarah) Godkin of Northwald, Norfolk, England; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 step-children, Kristi (Charlie) Ward of Waterloo and Kevin (Sandy) Rude of Port Gibson; 2 step-grandsons, Matthew (Stephanie) Crance of Liverpool and Jeffrey (Alison) Crance of Farmington; sister, Marian Hebblethwaite of Baldwinsville; 2 brothers, Ray (Linda) Shippers of Wolcott and Robert (Edna) Shippers of Rochester; several nieces and nephews.
