Alice L. Bernhardt, 78, of Canal St., passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at DeMay Living Center in Newark.
Family and friends may call Tuesday (March 29) from 2 to 4 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Burial will be private at a later date.
For those wishing, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association in your area.
Alice was born September 15, 1937 in Clifton Springs, a daughter to the late Charles and Alice Mollenkopf Lindstrom. She graduated from Newark High School in 1956, was a member of the Lyons Fire Department Auxiliary and a life member of VFW Post 5092 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Gerald (Barney) of Lyons; granddaughter, Rayanne Bernhardt Hall of Newark; sister, Edith M. Swann of Lyons; brother, Charles L. Lindstrom of Fairville; 2 foster-sisters, Judy (Pete) Welkley of North Rose and Mary Kay (James) Birch of Farmington; foster-brother, David Pelow of Waterloo; 2 special friends, Carol E. Brignall of Newark and Marie Otto of Palmyra; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her daughter, Royanne E. Bernhardt-Hall and foster parents, Russell and Betty Pelow.
