G. Robert Gillette, 92, of W. Port Bay Rd., passed away at home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

Family and friends may call Tuesday (Apr. 5) from 5 to 7 pm at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., North Rose, where an Elks (BPOE) service will follow at 7 pm.  Private burial will be in Huron Evergreen Cemetery. 

Contributions may be made to Wolcott Fire Department in Bob’s memory.

Bob was born September 4, 1923, in Wolcott, a son to the late Glenn L. and Mary VanDeeusen Gillette.  Bob was the last charter member of the Wolcott Elks where he was a member.  He was also a member of the Wolcott Fire Department and a volunteer at WAVAC.  He retired from NYS Office of Disaster Preparedness in Newark.

Predeceased by his brother, Eugene Gillette and sister, Pauline Judson.  Survived by his wife Ruth of 70 years; 4 sons, Mark Gillette of Marion, Randy (Marti) Gillette of VA, Jim Gillette of Wolcott and Peter (Joyce) Gillette; 8 grandchildren, Paul, Brandon, Joel, Jeremy, Sarah, Shelly, Doug, and Stacey; several great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Waterman of Savannah; several nieces and nephews.
