NORTH ROSE
Nina S. Johnson, 88, passed away Wednesday, (April 6, 2016) with her family by her side.
In keeping with Nina’s wishes there will be no prior calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Nina’s life on Saturday (April 16) at 4 p.m. at the North Rose United Methodist Church, 5050 Main St., North Rose. A private burial will be in Huron Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd, Lyons, NY 14489 or to the North Rose United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 369, North Rose, NY 14516 in Nina’s memory.
Nina was born on April 13, 1927, in North Rose, N.Y., the only daughter to the late Harry E. and Lena B. Sears Sidler. She retired from the Town of Rose in 1988 as Town Clerk after 16 years of service. Nina had many interests. She loved her family, genealogy, politics, of which she was a Democratic state committee man for many years, history, Syracuse basketball and Snoopy. She was a past Regent of the Colonel William Prescott chapter of the DAR, and a member of the Harlow Society in Massachusetts. Nina was extremely compassionate about making a difference in the community.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Edward) Darling of North Rose; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1987; and brothers, Harold, Howard, Albert and Lawrence Sidler.
Arrangements are with Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, North Rose.
