Gladys E. Bastian, 96, of Rose, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 with her family at her side.
Calling hours will be observed on Sunday (April 17, 2016) 1pm to 3pm at Farnsworth - Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., N. Rose, NY immediately followed by a memorial service officiated by the Rev. Dan Corretore. Family and friends are welcome to bring a picture or a written memory to be placed in a remembrance scrapbook.
Contributions in Gladys’ memory may be made to the Wayne County Meals on Wheels,1519 Nye Rd., Suite 400, Lyons, NY 14489 or Holt International, PO Box 2880, Eugene,OR 97402-9970, or to any church congregation with
whom she shared her music.
Gladys served her community through her music for 85 years, having begun as the Rose Union School pianist at the age of eleven. She shared her talent as a pianist, organist, and accompanist for countless area individuals, organizations, and churches until Easter Sunday 2015 when she retired for the last time.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and David Williams, and by her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Linda Bastian; grandchildren, Martin and Sarah Williams, Philip and Renee Williams, Janet and Jeremy Sears, and Elizabeth and Jay Gould; greatgrandchildren, Ethan, Mallory, Hannah, Lauren, Nolan, Olivia, Maria, Duban, and Victoria; Ellinwood and Bastian nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, her parents and siblings, and Jim’s parents and siblings.
