WOLCOTT
Carol S. Graves, age 71, passed away on Saturday (April 9, 2016) at home with her family by her side after a year long illness with cancer.
Carol was born on December 17,1944 in Monticello,NY, an only daughter to the late Anthony L. and Julia M. Bauer Schaefer. Carol was a teacher for over 30 years at Florentine Hendrick Elementary School in Wolcott. She was past President and Board member of the Wolcott Free Library, trustee of the Pasco College Scholarship Fund and was very involved with promoting and participating in the outdoor youth programs of Wayne County.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas M. Graves in 1993, she is survived by her two sons, Brian (Betsy) Graves of Tampa, Michael (Margaret) Graves of Clay; grandchildren, Tommy, Claire, Matthew, Sean, Ryan and Nora. Special beloved partner of 20 years, Chris Kenyon of Wolcott.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Carol’s life on Saturday (April 23) 1pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 11988 Main St., Wolcott. Burial will be private in Glenside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 11988 Main St., Wolcott, NY 14590 or to the Wolcott Civic Free Library, 5890 New Hartford St., Wolcott NY 14590 in Carol’s memory.
