Earl “Ben” Van Deusen, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 14,2016 at St. Ann’s Community Leo Center for Caring, with his family by his side.
Friends and family may call 3 pm - 6 pm on Thursday (Sept, 22) at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main Street N. Rose, followed by a service at 6 pm with Pastor Dave Parker officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be to Lakeshore Volunteer Ambulance, 5841 New Hartford St., Wolcott, NY 14590.
Ben was born on August 22,1926 in Butler, a son to the late Judson and Laura Leadley Van Deusen. He retired as a Procurement Specialist from Xerox in 1988. He was a member of the New York State Houndsmen, Red Creek Conservation Club and a lifetime time member of the NRA. He loved fishing and was an avid hunter but most dear to him was farming.
Ben is survived by his loving wife, Jackie of 50 years; his children, Barbara Hill, Pamela Taylor, Eugene (Laura) Van Deusen, Greg (Linda) VanDeusen, Garth Van Deusen, Ronald Van Deusen, Gary (Cheryl) Moody, Rose LaValley and Carolyn Harrison; 22 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ardis Harriot; and many nieces and nephews.
Ben is preceded in death by his grand-daughter, Sarah Van Deusen; 2 brothers, Judson and Norman Van Deusen and 2 sisters, Sally Jones and Gertrude Hurley.
