Delmer "Bud" Doyle, age 86, passed away October 1, 2016. Delmer was born in Potsdam, NY to James and Mildred Doyle on their family farm. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and American hero.
Delmer is survived by his wife Kaycee Doyle; daughter Michele; son Bryan and his wife Yvonne; his three grandsons Brandon, Jordan, and Carson; his sisters Carole Whitehead, Faith (Francis) Steen, Sally Cardinell, Audrey Curry, and Sharon (Butch) Wise; Brother; Jackie (Lucille) Cardinell, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Buddy is predeceased by his parents, his sister Sandy and his brothers Dwayne, Weldon and Fay Doyle.
Delmer served his country in the United States Army for 21 years earning the rank of Master Sergeant. While in the Army he served as a Master Parachutist, Airborne Instructor, Airborne Ranger, Green Beret and Special Forces. He served honorably in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his time in service he was a highly decorated soldier earning three Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars, one Bronze Arrow and many other awards and decorations for excellence in combat and in service.
Delmer retired from the military and purchased the family farm in 1976. He was a generous, loyal, dependable and caring man. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed working on tractors and trucks and driving around Wayne County with his beloved dogs.
There will be calling hours at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., North Rose on Friday, (October 7) from 4-7pm. There will also be an open house at the Doyle Family Farm located at 10148 Briggs Rd., North Rose NY 14516 on Saturday, (October 8) from 12-4pm. Delmer will be laid to rest with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Everyone please come and help us celebrate his life.
