Bernice E.T. DeRoose, 76, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Family and friends may call Wednesday (Apr. 5) from 10 am to noon at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will follow at noon.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lyons.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd. Lyons, NY  14489.

Bernice was born July 21, 1940 in Lyons, a daughter of John L. and Bernice E. Tinney Johnson.  In her younger years she was a musician, loved animals and enjoyed traveling with her late husband Albert.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2004, son, Timothy Mann, and sisters, Sarah Giambra and Ruth Muir. 

She is survived by her son Richard Covey; 2 daughters, Debbie Mann and Rebecca Remington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Cynthia (Michael) Dennis of Florida, Brion Johnson of Arizona, Jay (Malinda) Johnson of Westfield, NY, Lloyd (Carmen) Johnson of Spain, and Jane (Bill) Mott of Lyons; brother-in-law, Anthony Giambra of Brocton, NY; several nieces and nephews; and many very special friends.
