Thomas L. Gansz, 72, of Old Lyons Rd., died at home on Saturday, January 13, 2018 after an extended illness.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday (Jan. 17) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons.  A funeral service will be held Thursday (Jan. 18) 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 50 Spencer St., Lyons.  Spring burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.

Tom was born January 16, 1945 in Lyons, a son to the late Archie C. and Helen M. Beal Gansz.  Tom was a graduate of Lyons High School in 1963.  He was a local farmer from 1971 to 2015, loved to garden and enjoyed his grandchildren.  Tom was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Farm Bureau for many years.

He was predeceased by his brother, Duane in 1999.  Survived by his wife Jeanette (Verdow) of 51 years; 2 children, Krista (Gil) Jackson of Canandaigua and Kevin Gansz of Sioux Falls, SD; 2 grandchildren, Kellen and Keegan Jackson; 2 brothers, Myron “Mike” (Edna) Gansz of Lyons and Edward (Chris) Gansz of Lyons; sister-in-law, Edythe Gansz of Canandaigua; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
