Lyons

Floyd K. Bailey, 92, a resident of Wayne County Nursing Home, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018.

Family and friends may call Sunday (Jan. 21) from 1 to 2 pm at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St. Lyons, where a funeral service will follow calling at 2 pm.  Spring burial with military honors will be at South Lyons Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lyons VFW Post 5092 in Floyd’s memory.

Floyd was born December 6, 1925 in Springfield Township, Bradford County, PA.  Floyd proudly served in the Army during WWII from June 1944 to May 1946.  He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was in the Army Reserve from 1950 to 1956.  He was a past Commander of the Lyons VFW Post 5092. After the Army he started working, first selling farm machinery then working in a feed mill.  He worked at then Bloomer Brothers and continued for 38 years under the different ownerships.  In retirement he and Vivian enjoyed traveling and spent 14 years living in Florida until moving back to Lyons to be closer to family.

Predeceased by son Steven, sister, Eloise (Bea) Talbot and brothers Maurice, Merle, Don, Harlan and Lyndon. 

He is survived by his wife Vivian of 57 years; brother, Harry Bailey; children, Dan Bailey, Annette (Hayward) Simmons, Linda (Don) Moss, Larry VanHoesen (Tina Bounds) and Jim VanHoesen (Laurie Calviera); sister-in-law, Carol Bailey; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
