Max R. Sontheim, 94, of Gansz Rd., passed away Friday, January 19, 2018.

Family services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation, 1529 Nye Rd. Lyons, NY 14489; Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd. Lyons, NY 14489 or to Elks (BPOE) National Foundation, % Lyons Elks Lodge 869.

Max was born August 30, 1923 in Lyons, a son to the late Max and Frances DeGelleke Sontheim.  He was a life-long area resident and farmer, was a member of the Eureka Grange for 70 years and a life member and past Exalted Ruler of Lyons Elks Lodge 869 (BPOE).

He was predeceased by his daughter, Lina Ann; 3 sisters, Ruth Malone, Catherine Hall and Marian Blowers.  Survived by his wife Edna of 70 years; 3 children, Kenny (Brian Foster) of Phelps, Bonnie Brazis of Lyons and Michael of Lyons; 4 grandchildren, Stacy, Sandra, Sara and Michaela; 3 great-grandchildren, Ellie, Max and Finn; sister, Eleanor Vogt of SC; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, Lyons.
