Emmagene Powell

Emmagene Powell, of Glenmark Rd., passed into the arms of the Lord Friday, May 25, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, (June 2) 3pm at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 11648 Galen Rd. Wolcott. Burial will be private at Rose Cemetery.

Emmagene was born November 12, 1921 in Sterling, a daughter to Clifton and Laura May Dobbin Pettit. She retired from North Rose Elementary School as a secretary to the principal. She was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church through-out her life.

Predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1998, 5 siblings, Robert, Clifton “Sonny”, Howard, Leslie “Duke” Pettit, Margaret Lawson and granddaughter, Marissa Bundy in 2017. She is survived by eight children, Leslie (Linda) of Wolcott, Ronald (Mary) of Texas, Sharon (Robert) Sizelove of Arizona, Kathleen (Kent) Marshall of Huron, Suzanne (Philip) Smith of North Rose, Linda (Gary) Abbott of Wolcott, Christine (Glenn) Perry of Virginia and Colleen (Leonard) Bundy of South Carolina; also, Lisa (Charles) Wetmore, Leslie (Crystal) Powell, Jr. and Lori (Luke) Burgess;  over a hundred grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Rhoanna Yasso, Mary Steighler, Leroy Pettit and Laurel (Richard) Mitchell; and a large extended family.

For those wishing, memorials may be made to Sunnyside Baptist Church in her memory.
