Richard E. LaValley, 71, of Maple View Heights, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 after a brief illness.

Family and friends may call Monday (Nov. 19) from 11 am to 1 pm at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St. North Rose, where a funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be in Huron Evergreen Cemetery.

For those wishing, memorials may be made to New Hope Assembly of God, 5160 N. Main St., North Rose, NY 14516 in his memory.

Richard was born June 24, 1947 in Lake Placid, a son to the late Harold L. and Eleanor Lascor LaValley. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Rochester City Schools as an English teacher.

Predeceased by his step-father, Peter Lazina. Survived by his wife Diane; daughter, Rachael Williams of Lyons; 3 grandchildren, Becky, Elizabeth and Zachary; brother, Kevin (Cathy) LaValley of Rochester; great-aunt, Diane Barrett of Buffalo; and extended family.
