Earl G. Strohm, 95, a resident of Newark Manor, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

At Earl’s request, there will be no services, private burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.  For those wishing, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Wayne, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY  14489 or Lyons VFW Post 5092 in his memory.

Predeceased by his wife Betty Jane in 1976, sister, Esther Ketchum, brother, Lavern Strohm, and companion of 30 years, Mary Schuldt. 

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Strohm of Clyde; son, Larry (Terry) Strohm of Lyons; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Pearl Scanlon of Texas; nieces and nephews.

Earl was born August 21, 1923 in Lyons, a son to the late George C. and Ella Bauer Strohm.  He graduated from Lyons High School, attended Morrisville College and then worked for US Railroad in 1948, and retired from Borden’s in Lyons.  Earl was a veteran of the Army during WWII in the Calvary and was a member of the Lyons VFW and American Legion.  He was an active member of the Lyons United Methodist Church for many years.  Earl enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting and photography.

Earl’s family would like to thank Newark Manor for their care and compassion.
